About the African Center for Climate Adaptation and Mitigation

The African Center for Climate Adaptation and Mitigation is committed to transforming Africa's unique climate challenges into development opportunities at scale to meet the continent's aspirations. With a focus on energy transitions, food and agriculture, climate policy, climate finance, and capacity building, the Center drives solutions to the complex environmental challenges Africa faces.

Africa’s fast-growing economies and populations face the challenge of falling behind, as climate change could wipe out 2-5% of their GDP per year. However, the continent can capitalize on the opportunities presented by the energy transition, innovative agriculture, sustainable transport systems, and more. The Center aims to support Africa in becoming a prosperous, industrialized continent by leveraging climate opportunities and driving structural transformation.
